Overtime for
Playoff Games
In semi-final and final games, overtime will be “sudden death victory” and
played in intervals as follows:
First 2 minutes stop time – 4 skaters and goalie
per side;
Next 2 minutes stop time – 3
skaters and goalie per side;
Next 2 minutes – 2 skaters and
goalie per side until one team scores.
No player changes are
allowed at the end of each 2 minute interval (other than to remove one
player) or on any whistle. Changes
are only allowed “on the fly”.
If a penalty occurs during O/T, a player is removed from the penalized team
for the duration of the penalty.
Game Ejection
Any player assessed three minor stick penalties or a total of 4 penalties
in a game shall be required to leave the ice area for the remainder of the
game.
Any player assessed a match penalty or a gross misconduct will be suspended
for the balance of the tournament.
Any player or coach or other person who is assessed a major penalty
during the last 10 minutes of the game will miss the remainder of the game
being played and one additional game. This rule does not apply to 10 minute
misconduct penalties. All minor and
major penalties will be served 2 minutes and 5 minutes respectively, except
in cases where the mercy rule has taken effect (i.e., minor penalties will
be 3 minutes of running time and major penalties will be 6 minutes of
running time).
Tie Break Formula
To determine team standings in the event of a tie, the following criteria
shall be used:
i) head to
head winner
i) total number of points from wins/ties; or
Ii) best % from “goals
for” divided by “goals for plus goals against” (no more than a seven goal spread shall be factored into the
equation. ie. Team A wins 16 to 3. The score used for the calculation will be 10 to 3); or
Iii) first goal scored earliest in the first game;
or
Iv) a coin toss will be used.
Miscellaneous
Teams are allowed one, one minute “time out” per game.
No stick or equipment
measurements allowed.

The Tournament Committee reserves the right to alter and enforce any rule
